English Literature Inspired New York Wedding by GT Modern Creations

The inspiration for Lindsay & Tom’s wedding theme came from a mutual interest in English literature. They incorporated books into their centerpieces and used a library card catalog for their escort cards. The whole day was filled with smiles, love and lots of dancing – making this New York wedding totally enchanting. Take a moment to enjoy their beautiful highlight video by GT Modern Creations which puts you in the front row to witness their amazing day.

From the cinematographers: We met with Lindsay and her bridal party on the morning of the wedding at Peter Frank Salon, and before her hair and makeup had even started, she was radiant! Her friends and family recounted cute stories of her and Tom as they watched her get her makeup done, and tears filled their eyes when her veil finally went on…the day had finally arrived, two families would become one.

Once we got back to her house, Lindsay put on her gorgeous Jim Hjelm gown with the help of her mother, and her dad watched nearby in awe of how beautiful his little girl was. Hand in hand, she held on to her dad as she walked down the aisle and into the arms of Tom…her best friend and love of her life. Once she and Tom were finally together, there was nothing but smiles, joy, happiness, and love. There’s just something about these two, almost as if they have already been together for a lifetime. They spent the entire night dancing, holding hands, exchanging glances, laughing and sharing sweet kisses.

Mad Men Wedding Theme

I’m a huge fan of the Mad Men series – the cool 1950s era, the stylish fashion, and the intriguing characters…absolutely every bit of it! So, if there was a theme I would be jumping over the moon to see, it would be a Mad Men wedding theme. This gorgeous 1950s inspired shoot designed by Laura Lorraine Designs and shot by Randi Marie Photography, is full of Mad Men glam with a little modern twist and is shimmering with so much elegance, I’m sure all vintage brides out there will do a major double take. With a gorgeous tea-length lace dress, seriously pretty shoes, gorgeous jewellery and a mint green vintage suitcase I just gotta have, it’s a romantic dose of inspiration this MM fan is loving to bits.

Inspiration from the Designer: We set out to produce a one of a kind styled photo shoot to mirror the 1950’s (a timeless era), along with a Mad Men-esque modern theme. We hand selected the linens from La Tavola and these were the starting point of inspiration for the entire shoot. The color palette in the linens also complimented the elegance and ambience of the NOOR’s Ella ballroom perfectly. For the ‘Mad Men meets Modern’ theme, we chose dresses, provided by Alina Pizzano Couture Bridal to reflect the era and create a modern twist. Beautiful floral arrangements by Savvy Flowers added a pop of class to our tablescape. Sandra Nicole Designs, Crush Jewelry and Disco Toes added that little bling and the “wow factor” to tie together our model’s looks for the shoot’s integrity. Randi with Randi Marie Photography worked her magic to create a subtle yet beautiful collection of photos alongside SEP Lighting & Entertainment, which added to the beauty and essence of the Ella. Melinda with Cake Goodness, topped off the design with her beautiful, sweet creations and custom backdrop. All of this allowed for and complimented the design thought up and heavily fostered by Laura with Laura Lorraine Design.

Benny and Joon Wedding Theme Inspiration

We’re totally smitten with this next dose of inspiration. If you’re a fan of the old 1993 Johnny Depp movie ‘Benny and Joon‘ then hold on to your hats, because this styled shoot by the creative Elizabeth Zuluaga is nothing short of dreamy. Not only does it feature a Milk Bar shoot with plenty of fun and quirky appeal (just think cute E session inspo guys!), but also a beautiful riverside wedding styled shoot with gorgeous vintage styling, breathtaking natural light and a stunning up-do I totally have to try! Dive right in and lap up the lovely.

Benny and Joon Inspiration Shoot

Photographer Elizabeth shares her inspiration: I had been wanting to do a styled shoot for quite some time and seeing as how Benny and Joon is one of my favorite movies, it isn’t hard to see where the inspiration came from. It all began three months ago when I was reorganizing some things at home and came across one of my favorite movies, Benny and Joon. Later that day I took a shower, got dressed and whilst blow drying my hair it hit me. A Benny and Joon inspired wedding shoot! I thought, what would it look like if Benny and Joon got married? What would they wear? What would their story look like if the movie just kept going? I wanted to do two looks in order to showcase the diner scene in the movie and of course, their “wedding day.

Everything models Adam and Jennifer wore was picked out carefully from head to toe by yours truly and my wonderful hair/makeup stylist, Michelle Graves. Earrings, suspenders, shoes, even Jennifer’s socks! I would also like to point out that the wedding dress is vintage from the 1950s. So much of the film is about Sam’s eccentric style and Joon’s simple taste, so I worked diligently with my makeup/hair artist to recreate the look and feel of the characters, but also keep it a bit modern as well (with a little Liz flair). I made sure every accessory, sock/shoe and hair placement was whimsical, but with a slight edge. I wanted to be true to the film itself as well, but with a calm, beautiful approach in the posing, mannerisms and chemistry between the models.

I would have to say my favorite moment of the day was near the end of the shoot when the light was almost gone. We kept chasing the light, laughing, and running trying to get the perfect shot. I finally found this lovely little spot which was canopied by trees with a beautiful opening of the sky. This is where I shot them sitting down and Adam kissing Jen’s forehead, which turned out to be my favorite images of the day.

{Inspiration Board} Green, White & Silver Wedding Theme

Morning everyone!  I’m in the mood for an inspiration board today and have this fresh green, white and silver wedding theme for you. It’s a gorgeous colour combination which can seamlessly blend a touch of class with outdoor leafy greenery, soft white blooms and of course silver accents for that extra bit of glam. This colour theme really works for me – whether you go with emerald or forest green the mix with crisp white and silver creates a look which is beautifully serene and sophisticated. A timeless colour combo for any style of bride. Hope you like!

The Inspiration: {Photographer Carries shares}: I lived in New Orleans for a little while but didn’t get to experience Mardi Gras so I’m always wishing I’m there on Fat Tuesday:-) Part of what I love about my profession is coming up with creative ideas to continue improving and making them happen! So this was a little bit of inspiration that turned into a really cool shoot and it will even be featured soon in Tampa Bay Wedding Styles online magazine which is also pretty exciting. We actually did the session on fat Tuesday and Ybor is as close as I could get to the French Quarter feel. Feathers, bead covered florals and mask, beautiful wedding gown and fabulous models, Bobby and Cienne at the Roosevelt set the scene. I just wanted a simple, rough background and an alleyway I could light purple so we used a video light and off camera flash to create a dramatic effect. Here’s a little behind the scenes and also some of my favs.

Champagne, Chocolates & Chandeliers Wedding Theme

I thought I’d share with you today, a wedding inspiration board I created sometime ago but never got around to posting – Champagne, Chocolates and Chandeliers.’ This style of luxurious theme for a wedding is very much the trend for this year. It’s all about romance, luxury and old world elegance, but instead of the traditional ballroom venue of days gone by we’ve taken the theme outdoors for a woodsy, garden party feel. I love the idea of a relaxed and organic outdoor setting combined with the glamour of twinkling chandeliers and shimmering fabrics. Surrounded by luxury linens, sparking crystal and vintage tableware whilst sipping on french champagne and indulging in the richness of gourmet chocolates. Tell me . . . do you love decadent elements in a wedding or do you prefer simpler details?
