From the photographer: Aleksey and Lilia are a young and very in love couple from Moscow, Russia. Ever since they decided to exchange vows of eternal love, they set their minds on having a wedding in Santorini, Greece. Aleksey and Lilia wanted to have an intimate wedding ceremony at a location with beautiful views in traditional Cycladic style. For that reason, they decided to have the wedding ceremony at Aenaon Villas in Imerovigli. The wedding ceremony took place out of the luxurious Villa Elidami, where the couple was staying. Apart from Aenaon Villas, the photo shoot of the couple also took place at one of the famous black beaches of Santorini and the village of Oia. The decorations and the flower arrangements were rustic and vintage style, creating a stylish outcome against the magnificent Santorini backdrop.

Country Love Shoot by Cedarwood Weddings & Krista Lee Photography

The inspiration behind this country love shoot by Cedarwood Weddings and Krista Lee Photography is all about wide open spaces. Set in a 50-acre nature preserve on a historic farm estate in Nashville, Tennessee, the setting is perfect for popping the big question during a romantic romp in the southern countryside – and the fact that it’s so darn pretty doesn’t go astray either!

From Cedarwood Weddings: We styled the set with a vintage iron bed, hay bale mattress, soft linens for snuggling, wildflowers and champagne.  With gorgeous golden light and blue skies overhead, this inspirational shoot pairs fresh natural environments with a big dose of country chic.

Casual Fall Fete by Jeremy & Kristin

Fall is quickly becoming one of my favorite seasons…. golden hues, rich coloured blooms, cool crisp air – what’s not to love? Combine that with a relaxed casual vibe and a hint of vintage and industrial style, like this wedding by Jeremy & Kristin, and then you really have my attention. But if you also happen to throw in a stunning Vera Wang gown, a hip industrial venue and the natural beauty of the great outdoors – well, I’m in serious danger of catching bad wedding envy!  Take your time to enjoy this one lovelies and cherish all the poised pretty!

Beautiful bride Sarah shares the details:

1. What was the vision & theme for your wedding?

I wanted to keep things simple and casual. I also wanted to incorporate the season because I love Fall. It helped me pick the colors and decor.

2. What was the size of your wedding?

Average. We had around 90 people at the ceremony and reception.

3. Tell us about the details

Venue

We chose an art gallery in Fort Worth called Artspace111 because we loved the outdoor space. It had everything we were looking for- a place for an outdoor ceremony and a separate space for the reception. It was the perfect mix of eclectic, industrial, and vintage. We had to move the reception inside because of weather worries but it still turned out beautifully because of the artwork on the walls.

Color Palette

Our colors were brown, orange and a light robin’s egg blue.

Decorations & Flowers

The ceremony decor was very minimal. Our wedding was held in one of the sculpture gardens at the gallery so I didn’t want to interfere with the natural setting. We hung fall themed wreaths on the doors into the ceremony space and placed DIY floral arrangements on either side of the bride and groom. We had some DIY signs painted with “dinner” and “dancing” with arrows pointing the way into the reception space.

The table centerpieces were made my bridesmaids and myself. We used a collection of bottles in different shapes and sizes and painted them on the inside with different shades of robins egg blue. Then, we filled them with wheat stalks in them instead of flowers.

Wedding Cake

Our cake was 3 tiers with 2 tiers of lemon cake and 1 tier of spice cake with a white buttercream frosting. The frosting was done as all white rosettes except for 3 orange rosettes- 1 on each tier. Texture was more important to me than color but Robert didn’t want an all white cake so he came up with the idea to do the 3 orange rosettes.

Favors

I wanted to incorporate Robert’s heritage in some way so we decided on Mexican hot chocolate favors. They also struck me as very fall appropriate wedding favors. It’s a hot chocolate mix that has ancho chile powder and cinnamon added to it. I bought small jars and one of my bridesmaids made the mix and put the jars together. I bought Kraft paper tags and some twine from the store, hand wrote the recipe on the back, stamped “gracias!” on the front, and assembled them a few days before the wedding.

4. Tell us about your Wedding style

Wedding Gown & Accessories

I found my perfect dress at David’s Bridal. It was all lace with some draping on the top that gave it a nice texture. The salesgirl was spot on to recommend a belt with the dress. It gave it a nice vintage feel. I didn’t want to wear white so my dress was ivory instead. Again, I wanted to keep it simple and most importantly, not poofy. I wore ivory Toms that were an engagement gift from a friend. I love the concept behind Toms (get one, give one to an in need child) and also couldn’t deny the comfort factor. I wore my mother’s pearl necklace (my borrowed), some earrings I already had (my old), and a sapphire and diamond ring my dad gave me as we were all getting ready that day (my new and blue).

Bouquets

The bouquets were orange gerber daisies (my favorite flower!) and sunflowers, with some cream colored roses mixed in. I loved how bright and happy they looked! The bridesmaid bouquets were wrapped in brown ribbon and the bridal bouquet in ivory ribbon.

Bridesmaids

The bridesmaids wore robin egg blue dresses from Alfred Sung. They each chose a style to fit them and their personality. I wanted each girl to be comfortable in what they wore. I also liked the eclectic look it provided.

Groomsmen Attire

Robert wore a dark gray suit, an ivory dress shirt and an orange tie. His boutonnière was the same rose that was part of my bouquet with some coffee berry in there also. The groomsmen wore matching gray suits with either a blue or orange tie. Their boutonnières were made of mini sunflowers.

5. Did you include any DIY or personalized details?

A lot of the small details were do-it-yourself. I bought a basic guest book and added details to make it my own style. Other DIY details included the favors, reception centerpieces, a wedding wish tree I made, and some hand painted signs to direct guests from the ceremony to the reception. I loved being able to look around and think to myself “I love that because I made it.”

6. Was there anything that made your wedding unique?

I like to think my venue was a little unique and the overall feel to the wedding was a lot less formal than weddings I’ve been to. I had a lot of guests tell me later that they had a great time because of how relaxed everything was.

6. What did you find challenging?

Making decisions! I’m usually a fairly decisive Type A person but there were several moments throughout the planning process that I couldn’t make a decision to save my life! Another struggle was trying to balance wedding planning with my regular life – I ended up getting a little behind on other things because I was so focused on wedding planning.

7. What were your favorite moments?

My dad surprised me and the bridesmaids while we were getting ready at the gallery with a bottle of champagne and a beautiful ring he gave me. I also loved the moment right before I walked down the aisle because I was so excited to see Robert! Robert’s favorite moment was seeing my Dad walk me down the aisle. I’m usually not good at keeping secrets but I managed to not tell him anything about how I would look that day.

8. Any advice to Bride’s & Groom’s planning now?

Try to not sweat the small stuff. At first, I was really upset about having the reception inside the gallery instead of outside like we had originally planned. However, everything still turned out beautifully. We still got married, and everyone still had fun.

Also, do things little by little and don’t let it pile up. The more I procrastinated, the more stressed I felt. One last thing- find vendors that you love because it makes the wedding day much less stressful if you have full confidence that they will execute your vision.

Gypsy Boho Wedding Inspiration

As the days get warmer and the nights longer, I thought I’d keep it cool and relaxed, with this modern and pretty take on a bohemian wedding theme. This gypsy boho wedding inspiration board features chic and stylish details, vintage decor and, plenty of white gorgeous blooms. A diamente headpiece and a flowing gown ramp up the romance, whilst simple elements such as milk bottle vases, timber crates and hanging flowers keep the whole atmosphere organic and homemade. I think this beautiful outdoor setting would be oh-so pretty to recreate for a real wedding. What about you?

Sandhole Oak Barn Wedding by Neil Redfern Photography

I’m practically drooling over the cheese wedding cake in this delightful UK wedding. It looks so inviting and delicious, I might just have to pop over to the deli this afternoon and grab a bite of gourmet brie to indulge myself. Then again, the cheese stack is not the only delight in this sweet wedding held at the lovely Sandhold Oak Barn in Chesire. It’s full of homemade sweets, vintage inspired mismatched centrepieces, and an ice-cream van! Just a whole bunch of prettiness and delicious all round really! Brought to us by Neil Redfern Photography all the way from the UK, it’s the perfect little sunny soiree to get you through your day!

From the photographer: Photographing the wedding of my personal friends is such a privilege, it just takes the enjoyment of a job which I already love to an even more enjoyable level – and so it was when I photographed the friends of my very good friends Natalie & Jack at the beautiful Sandhole Oak Barn in Cheshire, England on one of the warmest days of the year so far – the sun was shining all day!

I used to work with Jack and mainly through of shared passion for the odd drink, we became really good friends. Seeing him so happy on his wedding day was just brilliant:-) Jack had every reason to be happy, he was marrying the beautiful Natalie (how amazing does Natalie look?!) in front of all their family and friends at one of Cheshire’s best wedding venues on what must have been the hottest day of the year! Not a bad day then. Natalie and Jack had the perfect day and I couldn’t have been happier for them both. Natalie had planned everything to the smallest detail and the day literally couldn’t have gone any better. I was just pleased to be able to photograph it for them both.

Mad Men Wedding Theme

I’m a huge fan of the Mad Men series – the cool 1950s era, the stylish fashion, and the intriguing characters…absolutely every bit of it! So, if there was a theme I would be jumping over the moon to see, it would be a Mad Men wedding theme. This gorgeous 1950s inspired shoot designed by Laura Lorraine Designs and shot by Randi Marie Photography, is full of Mad Men glam with a little modern twist and is shimmering with so much elegance, I’m sure all vintage brides out there will do a major double take. With a gorgeous tea-length lace dress, seriously pretty shoes, gorgeous jewellery and a mint green vintage suitcase I just gotta have, it’s a romantic dose of inspiration this MM fan is loving to bits.

Inspiration from the Designer: We set out to produce a one of a kind styled photo shoot to mirror the 1950’s (a timeless era), along with a Mad Men-esque modern theme. We hand selected the linens from La Tavola and these were the starting point of inspiration for the entire shoot. The color palette in the linens also complimented the elegance and ambience of the NOOR’s Ella ballroom perfectly. For the ‘Mad Men meets Modern’ theme, we chose dresses, provided by Alina Pizzano Couture Bridal to reflect the era and create a modern twist. Beautiful floral arrangements by Savvy Flowers added a pop of class to our tablescape. Sandra Nicole Designs, Crush Jewelry and Disco Toes added that little bling and the “wow factor” to tie together our model’s looks for the shoot’s integrity. Randi with Randi Marie Photography worked her magic to create a subtle yet beautiful collection of photos alongside SEP Lighting & Entertainment, which added to the beauty and essence of the Ella. Melinda with Cake Goodness, topped off the design with her beautiful, sweet creations and custom backdrop. All of this allowed for and complimented the design thought up and heavily fostered by Laura with Laura Lorraine Design.
