Vintage Style Love Shoot by Jessie Felix Photography

This cute couple went for something totally different and re-enacted a 1950s scene for their vintage style love shoot. Infusing old-fashioned values, retro country decor and total adoration for each other, they bring to life an era that once was (complete with single beds!) And we totally LOVE that! Jessie Felix snapped up all the fun and we are so thankful she did!

Boho Chic Wedding Ideas

We fell in love with every bit of this boho chic inspiration shoot by Petula Pea Photography the instant we saw it.  The subtle and soft pretty pastel palette, the breezy outdoor setting and the eclectic mix of vintage mismatched decor are absolutely dreamy. The decadent petal style wedding cake, the country rustic touches and the beautiful boho headpieces really make a boho chic theme simply irresistible. But the stand-out detail for me, is the gorgeous bohemian style gown by D’Marie Couture – simply stunning! There are so many fab ideas in this shoot to take in, your wedding inspiration meter will be in hippie-pretty overdrive once you reach the end!

From the Event Co-ordinator: A boho chic bride is inspired by nature, loves spending time outdoors, enjoys the simple things in life, and has a free spirit admired by others. The boho chic bride steers away from the traditional style of wedding dress. Instead, she opts for a flowing, lightweight gown with a great neckline (like the halter style featured with a single fabric rose replacing flashy embellishments).

A beautiful headpiece is a must for the bohemian bride. You can add touch of sparkle to a floral headband for a modern twist; or for a more classic boho look, wearing a long flowery headpiece is perfect. {Just like the floral headpiece featured in this shoot. An original by Whichgoose, worn by photographer Patty, on her own wedding day in 2009}.

Rustic, vintage furniture pairs beautifully with boho chic style. The hand-built doorway is an original ceremony backdrop and signifies an opening to a new adventure. The weathered nightstand is a great contrast against the delicate rose petal cake, and the drawers and shelves filled with trinkets represent family heirlooms.

Mismatched chairs are a fun way to mix-up the guest tables and using vintage picture frames to display table numbers gives the tables a creative touch. We added layers of textures and colors to the table for dimension, along with patterned plates and mismatched glasses to compliment the outdoor canvas. Lastly, low floral arrangements of various heights were added to create a soft, romantic look without overdoing it.

Another wedding idea trend which has dominated weddings but is showing no sign of exiting anytime soon is the humble mason jar. We put together a feature with different ideas for wedding lighting using a collection of mason jars. They’re a pretty and cost effective way to decorate wedding tables, aisle ways and outdoor receptions and give your whole event a magical glow.Mason Jar Wedding

Gold Vintage Glam Wedding Inspiration

Gold Inspiration WeddingTime for some vintage glam inspiration with this beautiful Gold Wedding Shoot from Douglas Thompson Photo. Styled by Dreamers and Heroes it captures the elegance and glamour of yesteryear all bathed in a soft golden glow. Shot within a 150 year old winery, it combines the rustic warmth of the timber and stone surrounds with the sophistication of a beautiful vintage table setting, antique furniture and gold plated glassware. I particularly love the gorgeous up-do hair style on the bride (perfect for a vintage glam theme or classical wedding), and the simplistic organic bouquet with it’s natural foliage and neutral tones – a wonderful contrast against all the opulence. Golden Wedding InspirationVintage Glam Inspiration ShootGold Wedding Vintage InspirationGolden Vintage Inspiration ShootVintage InspirationVintage Wedding InspirationVintage Wedding GoldGold Vintage Inspiration PhotographyVintage Inspiration ShootGold Wedding BouquetWedding InspirationWedding Inspiration PicturesVintage Glam WeddingAntique Vintage Wedding InspirationAntique Wedding Inspiration

From Douglas Thompson Photo: The Golden Vintage Inspiration shoot shows vintage elements, such as miniature paintings, carnival glass, and antique furniture in contrast to non-traditional elements. The gold gown worn by the bride is the dress the designer, Cena Jane Designs, wore for her own wedding. The gorgeous gold highlights the bride, since she is after all, so very precious. Voila Floral’s bouquet does not contain traditional floral but rather organic, natural elements that accentuate the bride without competing with her. Each place setting has martini glasses instead of champagne glasses, and guests are greeted at their seats by a little touch of brandy and a hand-embroidered kerchief to catch those tears of joy.

Wedding Theme Inspiration: Marry Me by Train + Win An Amazing Celebrity Wedding Prize

I have been sitting on a new blog category idea and some special wedding theme inspiration boards a for a few months now. The reason I’ve held back sharing them, is because I wanted to wait for the right time to introduce them. As fate would have it, there is some very exciting news for all you future bride and grooms out there directly related to my new wedding inspiration idea and theme board, so it can’t wait any longer.

I’ll start by introducing our new category:

Wedding Themes Inspired By Song

Train Marry Me Wedding Theme Inspiration

{Image credit: Train “Marry Me”}

The idea is to take inspiration from a song you love and use the music, lyrics or video clip to help design your wedding theme. It’s a wonderful way to kick start ideas for your wedding design and draw inspiration from your love of a particular song.

One of the first song themes I planned to feature was ‘Marry Me’ by Train. And as you will see at the end of this post, it was timely I share the board with you right now. So relax and enjoy the clip, take inspiration from the matching wedding board and read on to discover why Train’s song ‘Marry Me’ could mean more to you than just another pretty love song!

And here is my board inspired by the video clip:

Retro Vintage Wedding Theme

Marry Me Train Wedding Song InspirationBoard Details: Taking inspiration directly from the Marry Me music clip – which takes place in an old 50s diner – I decided to go with a retro vintage wedding theme. I used the waitresses’ blue uniform and a wonderful ‘Waitress’ movie poster as my starting point and came up with a aqua blue and white colour scheme, accented with pretty pops of pink and yellow. Retro style elements include 1950s style dresses for the bride and bridesmaids, vintage inspired pink and white posy bouquets and a vintage getaway car. Decor details include pretty fabric flag banners, a bright tablescape with retro glasses with striped straws, aqua coloured linens with pink and white striped accents and a waitress style clip-board for menu settings. Sweet retro desserts include cupcakes, popcorn, ice-cream cones, homemade apple pie and a soda fountain.

Train Marry Me Wedding CompetitionTo be in the running for this unforgettable wedding gift you need to visit Bride’s Facebook Page where you can tell them your proposal story and upload you and your fiance’s photos.
