Vintage Chic Wedding Theme in Citrus

I want to send out a big hello to all of our lovely Californian couples and talented vendors! We always get to see so much amazing, chic and stylish inspiration coming from the West Coast of USA, and I’m so excited to be able to share all the gorgeousness with you here at the Love Wed Bliss blog! Speaking of chic, we’re kicking things this wedding week with the prettiest little wedding theme ever. Meghan Wiesman Photography, along with an awesome group of vendors, created this stunning vintage chic wedding theme shoot, just bursting with citrus colours and modern shabby chic style. (Australian brides may also want to take note of the wonderful way they incorporated Kangaroo Paws into the florals!). I would just love to see this stunning theme brought to life by a lovely couple out there…. hint hint!

From the photographer: Vintage Chic was the look we were going for with this stylized shoot. Bringing a modern shabby chic twist with vintage elements. We wanted to show that it’s possible to have vintage elements without going heavy on vintage and keeping it bright, fresh and beautiful. The flowers were bold and along the lines of a citrus color palette. We wanted to use flowers you wouldn’t expect – Golden Yarrow, Pincushion Protea, Kangaroo Paws, Snap Dragons and King Protea… just to name a few.

We added in small vintage book page elements as an accent. Book page flowers were also in the flower arrangements, bouquet, boutonniere, and the bride’s ring. The alter was made of long strips of fabric and lace strung between two hoopa poles. Several amazing vendors collaborated to make this shoot a success:

Shabby Chic Black, White & Yellow Farm Wedding by Jonathan Campbell Photography

Farm Wedding TennesseeI’m seriously doing a happy dance under my desk right now – because I love every last detail of this amazing Tennessee farm wedding. I also believe it happens to be one of the best styled rustic and casual weddings I’ve seen for awhile. Let’s start with the colour scheme – a classic black and white damask design highlighted with fabulous pops of sunshine yellow. Then there are gorgeous ‘rustic meets shabby chic’ details like the cookie buffet table with scrumptious homemade goodies with a blackboard sign in a white ornate frame, elegant damask invitations and a wedding cake to match. Cute monogram favors and tubs of soda pop and homemade lemondade to give the day a personalized touch. As well as elegant floral elements including a pretty bridal bouquet of lemon roses and huge yellow floral arrangements towering high in the gorgeous reception marquee. But without doubt the the star piece is the gorgeous timber ceremony alter designed and built by the bride’s father no less – totally stunning!  Beautifully photographed by Jonathon Campbell, this charming celebration is a little bit country, a little bit shabby chic and whole lot of sassy style – what more can a Tennessee bride ask for?Farm WeddingYellow White Cookie Buffet TableFarm Wedding MarqueeShabby Chic Farm WeddingShabby Chic Cookie BarShabby Chic Outdoor Farm WeddingBlack White Damask Yellow Rustic DetailsFarm Wedding Bouquet Yellow RosesFarm Wedding Soda PopRustic Monogram Wedding FavorsShabby Chic WeddingTennessee Farm WeddingShabby Chic Black White Yellow Wedding CakeFarm Wedding FireworksFrom the Photographer: Keesha and Ben were married on family land and their wedding day represented all that a wedding day should be. Uniting their friends and relatives was the most important thing for them. Keesha and Ben wanted to keep their wedding informal and stress free so they opted to have their wedding nearby practically in their own backyard. A cookie bar, outdoor ceremony in front of a wooden alter that Keesha’s own Dad and family friend made, good ole southern pulled beef sandwiches and potato salad keep the theme light and everyone enjoying a casual afternoon celebrating their wedding union.

Shabby Chic Monterey Wedding by Jennifer Eileen Photography

This sweet Monterey wedding captured by Jennifer Eileen culminates an eclectic mix of styles into one pretty affair. The lovely bride Aykui gained inspiration from a variety of wedding blogs to create her own individual wedding style which she describes as ‘a little bit shabby chic and a little bit rustic, blended with classic wedding looks.’  Although Aykui hails from from Texas, she decided on a destination wedding in the stunning coastal town of Monterey California. Although she originally wanted a beach ceremony, she soon realized how much it meant to her to get married in a church and went with a beautiful traditional ceremony instead. Their romantic reception was held at the newly restored historic Perry House which was the perfect outdoor venue for their stylish event. Aykui did a phenomenal job of co-ordinating every element of the day and sourced many of the pretty wedding details from several Etsy vendors. With pretty pops of daffodil yellow and aqua sea green this modern wedding is the perfect mix of fresh, fanciful and just plain fabulous.Shabby Chic Monterey WeddingCalifornia WeddingMonterey WeddingCalifornia Shabby Chic WeddingShabby Chic Yellow Wedding BouquetSea Green Wedding ColoursShabby Chic WeddingYellow Wedding ThemeShabby Chic Monterey BrideShabby Chic Wedding Dessert TableShabby Chic Wedding CakeModern Monterey Wedding CoupleShabby Chic Yellow CentrepieceYellow and Green Wedding FlowersShabby Chic California WeddingModern California WeddingShabby Chic Wedding Details

Vintage Mismatched China

We love the idea of using mismatched china for a DIY wedding. Perfect for a garden or vintage styled affair, this gorgeous shabby-chic trend has been popular of late and is a look which gives a wedding decor plenty of personality. You can use mismatched china and tableware for pretty guest place settings, charming wedding centrepieces or even to bring a touch of nostalgia to dessert buffet tables.Vintage Table SettingsWhen designing your vintage tablescape, stick to a similar theme or colour scheme to keep the look cohesive. Start collecting your pieces early by regularly visiting local thrift and antique stores. It’s fun and often addictive to search for special pieces and you may even be lucky to find some great vintage props at the same time. Also, don’t over look family and friends as a fantastic source. Most families accumulate an assortment of mismatched china in their cupboards over time from formal dining sets. Sourcing vintage china can be very economical and you can recoup your investment when your wedding is over by renting your collection or selling it to other brides. Check out these pretty tablescapes we found using mismatched vintage china for charming DIY vintage wedding ideas.
