From the bride:

Our wedding was a dream that came true. In some magical way, every piece came together to look and feel stunning, as I think happens when you have amazing vendors, loving family and dedicated friends surrounding your day.

Our vision for our wedding was an eclectic mix of all the captivating wedding themes popular right now with an over-arching theme of mid-summer’s night dream. We had some vintage, some rustic and some bohemian vibes. It was impossible for me to stick with just one theme, as I kept seeing things I loved all over the place.

A lot of my inspiration came from other weddings I saw online but also from every day life. In our home, we have mismatched plates, so I knew right away that I wanted to do that for the wedding to give it that homey feel.

The venue was this incredible bed and breakfast that had an alluring, natural space in their back yard that lent itself to feeling like you belonged there, contributing to the ‘at home’ feel. Our table numbers came from important dates in our lives and our tables were filled with the most stunning flowers I’ve ever seen that we had grown at a local farm. We had a ton of vintage vases combined with tree stumps, moss and a variety of candles to give the space that soft, romantic feel. It was awesome. Everyone got to take home a vase as their favor…something that we hope everyone will enjoy and use!

My dress was originally made in the 60’s and had this intricate and delicate lace that had faded to this breathtaking shade of antique cream. I had some alterations done to give it the flutter sleeves and the deep-V back and make it fit my perfect wedding dress vision. My sister-in-law has the prettiest handwriting and wrote out everyone’s name and table number on river rocks while my best friend made us our wood-burned advice box. We were very fortunate to have an entire bridal party of gifted and loving friends and family that made our wedding incredibly special.

The most important part of our wedding was also the most unique. Our ceremony started off with one our very talented friends and groomsmen playing the guitar while the bridal party and bride walked down the aisle. The bride’s best friend wrote and performed the most beautiful and meaningful ceremony while the groom’s aunt (a JOP) was able to step in at the end and marry us while we stood surrounded by all of our loved ones holding hands. We wrote our own personalized vows for one another that are words we now treasure and use against one another (sarcastically!) in every day life. The ceremony was full of depth, passion, love and joy and if I had the option to go back and change anything, I would leave it exactly the same.

My advice to any bride and/or groom reading this would be to make your wedding day meaningful, whatever that means to you and remember to be in the moment…the day goes quick and it’s back to being a dream.

From the photographer: Periwinkle hydrangeas and pink peonies, classic chocolate cake and cowboy boots, this Backyard Garden Wedding was a dream to style and photograph. The inspiration behind this shoot was more of a feeling; something wholesome and honest, fresh and entirely original. With the help of many talented and creative individuals, we were able to bring this nuanced vision into reality. With the exceptional skills of stylist and event planner, Laura Wear and sumptuous floral arrangements by Durocher Florist, an enchanted scene emerged. Everything came together just beautifully. We just love the natural, unfettered look and feel of this whole shoot–it was understated yet elegant with a homespun twist. We’re happy to report that since this styled wedding, Kelly & Adam (our beautiful bride & dapper groom) have since gotten engaged!

It doesn’t get any more tranquil or pretty than this garden wedding by Jen Yuson Photography. The entire celebration takes place in the backyard of groom Ben’s childhood home, and as you’ll see, the whole setting resembles a garden oasis with lush foliage and shady tree canopies framing the celebrations. Stunning bride Becca (who looks amazing in her stylish understated gown) is escorted down the aisle by her two beautiful children, and then her father reads the sermon to seal the special deal. From the photographer: Boris the groom is Frenchie. He was born and raised in Normandy, France and came to America on a working Visa when he was 24 with an aerospace company where he works as a buying/purchasing engineer for airliner breaking systems. It was his first time in the US and to integrate himself into American culture he used the good ‘ol Craigslist to find a roommate in Capitol Hill. Brittany, the bride was raised a Midwest girl from southwest Michigan. She came to Seattle to go to UDUB. They met in her first year at The Art Institute for a BS in fashion marketing during a party in school in 2009. Since then they have had quite a few trials living apart due to Visa issues. Boris was transferred back to France (Paris) to work there in the summer of 2010. She was still in school and did not follow him until the following January of 2011. Boris then found out he was being transferred to Toronto, so in July of 2011 I left for the States once again. She found a job back in Seattle and ended up staying. Boris moved to Toronto last October. They made it work even being long distance and the silly governments keeping them apart (She said it’s sooo difficult to be an unmarried couple with different nationalities!!). So, Boris finally got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. The wedding was small with only a few of their close friends.

Bride Ana shares:

Our wedding took place at the Twin Oaks Garden Estate in San Marcos, CA. The venue has a charming little old school house and fit perfectly with our vintage/diy theme. Our colors were blush, khaki, and grey. I love the look of burlap and it was used to wrap the bouquets, boutonnieres, and in our cake topper. Since Brian is from the desert we encorporated succulents in the flower arrangements.

We tried to save money as well as give our wedding a personal touch with DIY projects. We made and printed out our invitations and wrapped them with twine and flowers. I printed out pictures of our couple guests, hung them on twine in a frame, and used them for our “Sweet Love” dessert bar sign. My husband found an old window pane and we used a chalk pen to turn it into our seating chart. Our finger print tree was painted by one our good friends who was also one of the groomsmen. I also bought a lot of stuff from Etsy. To save money on flowers I ordered and assembled paper tissue balls in our colors for the ceremony gazebo. The little ring bearers newsboy caps and bow ties were ordered from Etsy as well as our cake topper.

One of my favorite memories was my sister’s maid of honor speech. She is super shy and rarely talks in front of people. (One of our cousins joked that it was the first time he’s heard her voice) I was so proud of her. Another great memory was watching our 1 year and a half daughter dancing the night away on the dance floor. She was having so much fun and made the cutest flower girl ever.. but I am biased haha. We are so happy to have these amazing pictures to remember our special day. It was perfectly us.

Oklahoma Garden MarriageDominion House Oklahoma Wedding VenueChandelier Bridal EarringsPhotographer Annie shares: The picturesque outdoor gardens at The Dominion House provided the breathtaking backdrop for the marriage of Annie & Eric. A year before the wedding, Annie nixed the idea of a traditional wedding in her home state of Minnesota and ventured south to Oklahoma City. The moment Annie walked through the doors to the garden she knew Dominion was the ideal wedding location.

I just adore the fabric flower centerpieces the bride lovingly made herself, the rustic cake display and the colorful pinwheel ceremony arbor giving the whole event a whimsical feel. Jennifer B. She was also there with some friends, eyeing him from across the room. Sara decided to do something she had never done before – she asked him to buy her a drink. They’ve been inseparable ever since. Tony is a bit shy but has a quick smile. Sara is vivacious and laughs constantly. Yin and Yang.

Rain threatened, but never arrived, despite two storms that passed nearby. It was a beautiful warm day scented with roses and highlighted with cute pinwheel-and-flower decorations. Two families met for the first time on this day, and friends from all over the east coast arrived to celebrate. There were no bridesmaids or groomsmen, but special friends arrived a few days early and assisted the bride and groom with wedding preparations.
