Renewal of Vows French Country Style by Belle Momenti Photography

After three days of extensive Asian/Western wedding celebrations, Aaron and Sheena, who were unable to fulfill their ambition of marrying abroad, decided that they would one day renew their vows in a more intimate setting. Through their mutual love of travel, culture and all-things European, they decided that the location should be in an authentic, real-life fairytale castle – Château des Buis, situated in the Rhones/Alps region of France. At nearly 850 years old, the Château is steeped in history and filled with French ambience and tradition, giving Aaron and Sheena the intimacy they were seeking, with breath-taking views over the surrounding countryside.

From the photographers: In the morning, the venue’s hair and makeup artists arrived at the Château to help Sheena create her bridal look whilst Aaron relaxed with his best man. After some individual stylized photographs the couple renewed their vows in the beautifully renovated stone Orangerie, which had been decorated for an intimate ceremony.

The couple lit a Unity Candle to mark the occasion, witnessed by their two best friends, before making their way to the beautiful fresco adorned coach entrance for confetti throwing. Afterwards, Aaron and Sheena were photographed in all of the key locations in and around the Château – from the wonderful gated courtyard to the classically beautiful staircase, opulent bridal suite and ‘Salle de Freques.’ Sheena was even captured throwing her bouquet of red roses from the tower to her Prince below in a gesture of pure romance!

Aaron and Sheena then moved into the Écurie, for a lavish yet intimate reception meal with their friends and an appropriate toast of the Château’s own Grand Cru Rose wine. After cutting their cake – a chocolate gateau covered in a Chantilly cream icing – the couple fed each other ‘Tart au praline’ – a delicious specialty of the region. Unbeknownst to the happy couple, their family and closest friends had contacted the Château beforehand, to offer their congratulations and loving wishes. Lucy, the Château’s dedicated wedding planner, transferred these messages to handmade labels and tied these with coloured ribbons onto a wishing tree…adding a further surprise to their day!

To end the celebrations, Sheena changed into her Asian wedding dress, which she wore on her wedding day, before joining Aaron to dance under the candle lit lanterns that Lucy had arranged for them. Finally, after a night’s stay in the Château’s bridal suite, they were awakened with yet another personal touch – a champagne breakfast complete with croissants from the local artisan bakery.

LWB Welcomes Sweetest Celebrations {& Parisian Chic Inspiration}!

Hi lovelies! It’s a wonderful Thursday morning and I’m excited to announce our brand new guest blogger to join the LWB family –  lovely Haydee from Sweetest Celebrations. You’ll be pleased to note Haydee is not only obsessed with all things weddings, but she also just happens to be a wedding co-ordinator (handy girl to have around I say!)  Just like us, there’s nothing she loves more than immersing herself in some serious pretty – and lucky for us she will be sharing plenty of pretty inspiration on LWB every month. So, give a warm welcome to Haydee,  and enjoy her first gorgeous feature, then be sure to pop over to her pretty website to see how she can make your special day come to life!

Lately, I’ve been inspired by Paris – the city of romance, soft ruffles and glamorous chandeliers. I picture a wedding adorned with sweet details in shades of ivory and pink, accented with touches of black here and there. This inspiration board features a Parisian Chic wedding theme, with traditional items such as vintage teacups and upholstered wing back chairs balanced with modern touches like black crystal accents and pink ruffles. A nice finishing touch would be to have chandeliers everywhere – to cast a soft mood for the ceremony and then to also liven up the table decor on a smaller scale. French macaroons create the perfect finale adding another element of French elegance to your wedding theme.  I think this style of inspiration would add a touch of romance and glamour to any wedding.

A Paris Honeymoon by Keith Pitts Photography

Some may call it ‘The City of Lights‘ but I prefer to call Paris ‘The City of Love! Overflowing with history, romance and beauty, it’s a lover’s oasis filled with magic, and a romantic overload for the senses. It also holds a special place in the heart of this gorgeous duo Lindsay and Robert. Robert proposed to Lindsay in Paris and after their Summer wedding in Spain, decided it was the perfect place for their  honeymoon – and we couldn’t agree more!  With a collection of stunning photos by Keith Pitts Photography, these two honeymooners have created a ‘French Connection‘ they will never forget!

From the photographer: Lindsay and Robert are an American couple who were married in Spain this summer and decided to honeymoon in Paris this July. Paris was a special place for them as it was the spot where Robert proposed. Here it is in his own words: “The culmination of ring hiding and nervous secrecy came to fruition in the early hours of January 1, 2012. Along the banks of the Seine, overlooking the Eiffel Tower, I proposed to Lindsay, and to my great joy, she said yes. As I grasped for the ring in my jacket pocket, only hours after we brought in the new year, I had the feeling that I can only describe as the one you feel just before you get on a roller coaster: I knew that there was no turning back. I’ve known for a long time that Lindsay was the one for me, but to go through the process of actually proposing was as nerve racking as anything I’ve every done. When she said yes, all the shaky emotions of anxiety and worry were replaced by feelings of harmony, well being and especially love. I am so happy to be able to say that Lindsay will be my wife and that we will forever be connected for the rest of our lives.”

Château des Buis

When I think of France, my mind drifts to a place of beauty, history and sophisticated elegance. Forever seductive, forever enchanting, and the most romantic wedding destination you could ever hope for. As far as I’m concerned, escaping to the French countryside, immersing yourself in luxury, and tying the knot like European royalty would have to be the absolute ultimate. Well, my lovelies, if you think like me, prepare to get giddy, because I’m about to reveal how your fantasy can become a reality….

Introducing France’s best kept secret – Château des Buis.

Located between Geneva & Lyon in the Rhone-Alps region of France, is the exclusive Château des Buis. This majestic 13th century family home which overlooks the Ain Valley, has been home to just 2 families throughout its history. Until recently, it was only made available for private family weddings. Now, that’s all about to change.

In April 2013 the Château des Buis will open its doors to the public as an exclusive wedding venue. For the first time in history, discerning couples seeking a high-end destination wedding experience can take advantage of the beauty, elegance and superb amenities this historical venue has to offer.

Elegant manicured gardens, sweeping grounds and historical architecture literally take your breath away. The Château is your bona fide fairytale wedding backdrop.

Stunning original hand-painted fresco paintings adorn the courtyard and interiors, instantly transporting you back to a medieval era full of mystery and passion.

The peaceful and tranquil surroundings, soothe the senses and create the perfect ambient atmosphere for a romantic soiree.

This idyllic wedding venue can accommodate an intimate wedding party of up to 50 wedding with facilities for both a breathtaking outdoor or indoor ceremony and reception. What’s more, every aspect of your wedding at Château des Buis is expertly catered for. Not only do you have exclusive use of the beautiful formal gardens and grounds on the day, but your wedding package also includes the bridal suite for your wedding night, the services of a professional wedding planner, and the talents of award-winning photographers Belle Momenti Photography to capture every moment of your amazing day!

But, the wonderful French hospitality does not stop there. Le Chatelain (the head of the family) will be your wedding host, providing guided tours of the Château’s historical artifacts  which includes the “Salle des Fresques,” beautiful Renaissance wall paintings which decorate the house. And for that extra touch of  luxury, Le Chatelain will also make available his vintage Alfa Romeo Spider sports car to include in your wedding portraits in the courtyard (how amazing is that!).

There is no question a destination wedding in France is both incredibly special and unique. But when you combine it with an exclusive European venue such as the Château des Buis – it’s totally what dreams are made of!

Get in touch with Château des Buis today to begin planning your once-in-a-lifetime celebration.
