From the bride & groom: Our wedding day was simply perfect and I could not have asked for a better day!  When I began planning for our special day, I knew that I wanted it to have a vintage feel with an elegant touch. Immediately, my first stop was my Aunt Janice, our decorating extraordinaire.  I gave her my vision, my colors, my random ideas that didn’t make a lot of sense, and told her to run with it… I trusted her 1,000% to make it perfect!

We had a little over a year to prepare, so we began collecting family heirlooms and portraits to add the special touches to our day.  We had old pictures, family bibles, and other special pieces that we wanted incorporated.  Aunt Janice turned my random thoughts and MANY Pinterest snapshots into something wonderful and unforgettable. There were many nights spent making flower arrangements and decorations.  In fact, every flower (including my bouquet, bridesmaids’ bouquets, and all boutonnieres) were handmade by my Aunt Janice and Aunt Sharon!!!  They are some AWESOME ladies!  My family and I bagged all of the favors and birdseed and the delicious deserts as well.

The aim was to create my dream wedding on a budget… and we DEFINITELY accomplished that!  We truly had a great team on our side that kept things running as smoothly as possible!  Of course there were challenges, but we were determined to not let anything stand in our way.  The most memorable part of the day was the First Look! (seeing each other before the wedding) I will forever and always be grateful to J+A for suggesting it to me… despite my wishes to be super traditional!! Experiencing that moment… just the two of us… was priceless! THANKFULLY, I have the pictures to help me remember that moment (and our entire day) for the rest of our lives!

{Guest Post} 3 Pearl Jewellery Suggestions for an Autumn Wedding

Autumn is still an incredibly busy season for weddings and most brides will be planning their big day long before the trees begin to shed their leaves. Whilst a wedding is a magical occasion for all concerned, it’s particularly so for the bride who wants to get her style ‘just right’ on the day.

Autumn Wedding Jewellery Ideas

Pearls are traditionally a first choice of jewellery to be worn on a wedding day. Now, with the increased popularity of vintage and classically styled weddings –  where elegance and sophistication are a must – more and more brides are falling under the spell of pearls. The unique qualities of cultured pearls meet all these expectations and you’ll discover that you are able to incorporate the classic look of pearl jewellery into whatever style of wedding ceremony you choose.

Besides the single strand pearl necklace, let’s take a look at three of our other jewellery suggestions if you are getting married this autumn:

1. The White Freshwater Pearl Bracelet

White pearls are a perfect wedding jewellery choice given their elegance and understated sophistication, and the beautiful piece pictured will definitely complement any bride’s choice of wedding dress this Autumn. Stunning and breath taking – freshwater pearls are an autumn wedding favourite.

2. A South Sea Pearl & Diamond Pendant

A stunning example of just how timelessly exquisite and luxurious pearls can be. This exceptional South Sea pearl and diamond pendant has no shortage of sophistication – something which makes it a perfect choice as a piece of bridal jewellery. Flawlessly crafted and finished, with a curve of pave diamonds set in 18 carat white gold, the pendant is a piece of jewellery that will truly stand the test of time.

3. Triple Strand Freshwater Pearl Necklace

No wedding outfit would be complete without a classic pearl necklace. We love the vintage styling of this beautiful triple strand freshwater cultured pearl necklace. Large enough to be eye-catching, the graduated strands of these white pearls will gracefully enhance the neckline and the look of the bride as she makes her way down the aisle.

Pearls are such a perfect choice of wedding jewellery that it is easy to fall in love with these unique gemstones. Their strong sense of history and tradition can easily add a touch of elegance to a bride’s outfit for her big day. If you are getting married this autumn, hopefully some of the suggestions above may give you some ideas for choosing the right wedding jewellery for you.

Fall Inspired Livermore Vineyard Wedding by Becca Howell Photography

This gorgeous couple certainly put together all the right ingredients for the perfect wedding. First of all there is the perfect match of a fall inspired wedding theme with a vineyard venue. Then add to that, a stunning bride in a show-stopping vintage style gown and hair style, and finally – the pièce de résistance – mouth watering local food and wine to indulge the senses. All the stunning images from Becca Howell have us dreaming of lingering amongst the vines on a sun-kissed afternoon and soaking up the Californian beauty. But, before we leave you to dream away, we can’t miss mentioning all the beautiful autumnal florals and purple and gold decor which embraced the event in a warm soft glow. This stylish affair had us at first glance and the stunning black and white portraits by Becca only kept us coming back for more.Fall Inspired Vineyard WeddingGold Purple Chair DecorVineyard WeddingFall Vineyard Wedding CaliforniaLivermore Vineyard WeddingCalifornia Livermore WeddingSilver Wedding Shoes Fall BridePurple Gold WeddingVineyard BrideFall Vineyard WeddingFall Wedding Purple Gold PaletteVineyard Wedding Food WineFall Inspired California Vineyard BrideVineyard BridesmaidsVineyard Wedding CouplePurple WeddingCalifornia Livermore Vineyard WeddingPurple Fall Wedding ReceptionFall Wedding Purple GoldFall Inspired Wedding BouquetFall Inspired WeddingCalifornia Vineyard Wedding Reception

Fall Wedding Colors ~ Pumpkin, Mustard & Terracotta

Wedding Colors For Fall

Classic wedding colors for fall tend to always include rich warm harvest colors. Visualize the enticing colors of changing autumn leaves, juicy harvest fruit, and glowing sunsets. Vibrant shades of terracotta red, mustard yellow and pumpkin orange make a striking backdrop for a wedding. Also soft greens such as moss and mint work beautifully within a fall color palette. Outdoor fall weddings easily lend themselves to include rustic details. Lots of natural timber used in the decor, a leafy outdoor setting and bold autumn colors used in flowers and centerpieces make a charming effect. For an elegant style fall wedding you can tone down the bold colors by just using muted autumn shades or by adding just a touch of  orange, red or yellow throughout your decor. Here are some of my thoughts when it comes to beautiful wedding colors for fall.
