LWB Welcomes Sweetest Celebrations {& Parisian Chic Inspiration}!

Hi lovelies! It’s a wonderful Thursday morning and I’m excited to announce our brand new guest blogger to join the LWB family –  lovely Haydee from Sweetest Celebrations. You’ll be pleased to note Haydee is not only obsessed with all things weddings, but she also just happens to be a wedding co-ordinator (handy girl to have around I say!)  Just like us, there’s nothing she loves more than immersing herself in some serious pretty – and lucky for us she will be sharing plenty of pretty inspiration on LWB every month. So, give a warm welcome to Haydee,  and enjoy her first gorgeous feature, then be sure to pop over to her pretty website to see how she can make your special day come to life!

Lately, I’ve been inspired by Paris – the city of romance, soft ruffles and glamorous chandeliers. I picture a wedding adorned with sweet details in shades of ivory and pink, accented with touches of black here and there. This inspiration board features a Parisian Chic wedding theme, with traditional items such as vintage teacups and upholstered wing back chairs balanced with modern touches like black crystal accents and pink ruffles. A nice finishing touch would be to have chandeliers everywhere – to cast a soft mood for the ceremony and then to also liven up the table decor on a smaller scale. French macaroons create the perfect finale adding another element of French elegance to your wedding theme.  I think this style of inspiration would add a touch of romance and glamour to any wedding.

Glamorous Nashville Wedding by Matt Andrews Photography

There are so many glamorous details in this Nashville wedding that instantly captured our attention. Just feast your eyes on the incredible decor! Wow! The golden reception tables with overhead manzanita branches, a cake setting fit for a princess, twinkling chandeliers everywhere you turn, and the couple’s intimate table for two with elaborate dining chairs…we are falling for it all. And it married so perfectly with the warehouse style venue which hosted this chic city affair. Matt Andrews Photography snapped all the glamorous details as well as some super fun pics against the modern city backdrop. This is definitely a glamorous modern wedding if we ever saw one.

Photographer Matt shares: The weather was gorgeous on Kyle and Sara’s wedding day and they wanted to take advantage with lots of romantic and fun photos so we took the pre-ceremony portraits on the road. A tour bus picked up the entire wedding party to stop by several outdoor locations including the downtown pedestrian bridge and Shelby Bottoms Park. The reception was amazing and just the look on the bride and groom’s face when they first saw it was a great photo opportunity in itself. The reception was kicked off with a flash-mob and once the party got started it never slowed down until everyone was ushered outside for the big send-off with a fireworks show.

Photographer Megan shares: While attending the annual Wedding and Portrait Photographer’s International Conference, better known as “WPPI” in Vegas this year, I decided to make the trip even more worth it and signed up for Gavin & Erin Wade’s styled desert shoot. Myself and 15 others hopped in a van and headed down the rural freeway to an open clearing of desert for miles and miles. It was so fun to leave the strip for a bit, and to be able to shoot an amazingly cute couple. Kate and Chris were married this past June and still have the newlywed glow, where just a glance makes the other smile, a photographers dream!!

10 Chic Ideas For A Summer Wedding Theme

Summer is the ideal time for outdoor fun and excitement. It is also the ideal wedding season to make a vibrant statement with bold colors and unique styling. Add some effervescence to your Summer Wedding with these chic summer wedding ideas.

1. Summer Invites

Kick off your wedding theme with save-the-dates and invitations reflecting a summery mood. Bright pops of color matching a vibrant summer palette will look great. Or, for a subtler look choose designs reflecting the season – butterflies, pretty florals and botanical designs all beautifully represent an outdoor summery affair.

2. Celebrate Outdoors

Summer is the perfect time for an outdoor ceremony and reception. Take advantage of venues situated on or near the water. Riverside receptions, beach weddings and locations with a view all have instant atmosphere. Alternatively the grounds of an elegant home can be transformed into a stunning venue. A majestic marquee or grouped outdoor tables on lush lawns make a lovely garden wedding setting. Or to really embrace summer, host a wedding luncheon or summer evening affair poolside, complete with floating candles, sun umbrellas and modern decor.

3. Outdoor Decorations

Outdoor Summer weddings give you plenty of scope to be creative when decorating your venue. Visualise twinkling fairy lights at a garden wedding, glowing lanterns enhancing an ocean view, or colourful rows of paper pom poms hanging from trees overhead. All of these types of decorations will give your wedding a lovely summery whimsical feel.

4. Pops of Colour

Introducing bright colors into a wedding colour palette will enhance a summer theme. Inject a burst of colour with bright coloured bridesmaid dresses or pretty bridal accessories. A bright coloured clutch or striking pair of heels instantly adds ‘wow’ factor and an element of excitement to your wedding style statement.

5. Fan Wedding Favors

Stylish hand fans are a great idea to use as wedding favors at an outdoor wedding. Not only do they look stylish but they’ll also keep your guests cool and comfortable in the summer heat.

6. Pretty Parasols

Parasols at a wedding always look charming. They can be a great way of injecting a burst of colour or making a style statement for your summer theme. Use them as an alternative to your bridesmaid bouquets – not only will look fantastic, but the girls will be grateful for the shading too. Summer parasols also make for a chic guest favor particularly at a beach wedding or garden party. Group them together in an attractive basket with a note to your guests, and they will add a lovely personalized touch to your stylish decor.

7. Summer Cocktail Bar

A self-serve cocktail bar with a colorful display of bottles and garnishes gives a summer reception a stunning focal point and crowd pleasing element. Think lots of fresh fruit, cocktails sweetened with simple syrups and refreshing flavours. Mimosa’s, Bellini’s or Daiquiris are all popular choices and all look fabulously chic in pretty cocktail glasses.

8. Ice-cream Cones

Nothings says Summer more than ‘ice-cream.’ I can think of no better option on a hot summers afternoon, than to indulge in a chilled creamy cone or fruity gelato. Serving ice-cream cones at a wedding is fast becoming a popular trend which is a winner with wedding guests. For elegant modern soiree arrange for waiters to serve your guests individual cones. Or, if you’re having a relaxed outdoor bash, hire a retro ice-cream van – it’s bound to be an instant hit.

9.  Fan Programs

Another way to include paper fans in your summer wedding is to have them double up as ceremony and wedding programs. All you do is have your guests pick up their individual fans as they arrive at the ceremony and they will stay cool and informed of the days events at the same time.

10. Summer Dessert Buffet

A wonderful ending to a summer dining experience is the dessert buffet.  Laden with mouth watering desserts such as fruit and berry tarts, colourful cupcakes and sweet treats it’s a delectable delight for the eyes and the appetite.  Many weddings are adopting the dessert buffet in lieu of the traditional wedding cake or as an addition on the menu to add extra appeal to their reception. Whether featured in an inside venue or displayed outdoors, it is a Summer sweet feast for sure.
