Poppy Red and Marigold Vintage Glam Wedding Theme

Welcome back to another week in wedding-land! And what better day than a Monday to shower you all with some super glamorous, super fabulous, vintage inspiration to start the work week. Amy of Amy Majors Photography sent us this luxurious vintage glam shoot inspired by The Old Spaghetti Factory, which is actually where the shoot takes place. And we couldn’t be more thrilled to share it with you today. The restaurant’s decor is filled with unique and elegant furniture, hand-selected antiques and a rich, bold colour scheme in poppy red and marigold yellow so this shoot’s ornate vintage styling complimented it perfectly. Just think old Hollywoood glamour, fur stoles and red lipstick, twinkling crystal and gold embellishments (with a dash of Italian flavour!) and you’re back channeling this elegant era.Vintage Glam BrideRed and Yellow Wedding CenterpieceVintage Glam Wedding DecorVintage Glam Accessories Red ShoesRed and gold Wedding InvitationsRed and Yellow Wedding IdeasVintage Wedding Table DecorationsVintage Glam ThemeRed and Marigold Wedding Favor IdeasRed and Marigold Wedding FavorsOld Hollywood Glam Wedding DecorYellow Wedding IdeasVintage Glam Wedding IdeasVintage Wedding Dessert TableRed and Yellow Wedding ColorsRed Yellow and Black Wedding Cake

Jane Austen Inspired Wedding Shoot

“A lady’s imagination is very rapid; it jumps from admiration to love, from love to matrimony in a moment.”

Jane Austen Novels InspirationWell known English author Jane Austen is renowned for her historical novels and today many gorgeous films have been produced inspired by her work. I’m delighted to share with you this beautiful vintage wedding shoot inspired by all things Jane Austen. Stylishly photographed by Bit of Ivory Photography it brings to life this elegant moment in time and unequivocally captures the romance in her stories that touches our hearts.Although Jane only had a total of  six published novels they have become true role models for romantic love stories since the early 1800’s. Jane Austen’s life and the Regency era (1811 to 1820) with it’s elegance directly reflected the writings she produced.

From the Photographer: It all started when I announced that I was going to Europe. My UK graphic designer friend Melissa Love asked, “Since you and Meghan do stylized shoots, could you help me plan one here in the UK? We’ll do Jane Austen!” I think my heart stopped!  Jane Austen . . .  In England . . .  Do fish breathe underwater?  My life was made.

Great Gatsby Themed Wedding by Stay Forever Photography

Here is a little treat for you today – a vintage inspired wedding which brings together the couple’s love of two great icons – the classic Great Gatsby movie and old ‘blue eyes’ crooner Frank Sinatra. This lovely intimate affair held ocean side in beautiful Florida and shot by Stay Forever Photography, is full of personalized details and stylish touches. My favourites . . . the gorgeous coral floor length bridesmaid gowns, the huge floral ceremony arch bursting with colour, and an array of pretty orchids everywhere you turn.Bright Floral Wedding ArchMelissa from Stay Forever sums up the day perfectly: When we met Sam & Steven and they told us about their “Great Gatsby/Frank Sinatra” theme; we knew we were going to be apart of a unique and fun wedding! Sam & Steven were married in front of friends and family in a small ceremony on the terrace of their oceanfront condo as the sun was setting on a beautiful fall day. Guests blew bubbles as they happily walked down the aisle as husband and wife, you just can’t hide that kind of happiness. The reception was filled with amazing details, great music, and lots of dancing! Sam & Steven it’s easy to see how perfect you both are for each other, thank you for allowing us to be part of your special day, we hope you enjoy your pictures!

Wedding Theme Inspiration: Marry Me by Train + Win An Amazing Celebrity Wedding Prize

I have been sitting on a new blog category idea and some special wedding theme inspiration boards a for a few months now. The reason I’ve held back sharing them, is because I wanted to wait for the right time to introduce them. As fate would have it, there is some very exciting news for all you future bride and grooms out there directly related to my new wedding inspiration idea and theme board, so it can’t wait any longer.

I’ll start by introducing our new category:

Wedding Themes Inspired By Song

Train Marry Me Wedding Theme Inspiration

{Image credit: Train “Marry Me”}

The idea is to take inspiration from a song you love and use the music, lyrics or video clip to help design your wedding theme. It’s a wonderful way to kick start ideas for your wedding design and draw inspiration from your love of a particular song.

One of the first song themes I planned to feature was ‘Marry Me’ by Train. And as you will see at the end of this post, it was timely I share the board with you right now. So relax and enjoy the clip, take inspiration from the matching wedding board and read on to discover why Train’s song ‘Marry Me’ could mean more to you than just another pretty love song!

And here is my board inspired by the video clip:

Retro Vintage Wedding Theme

Marry Me Train Wedding Song InspirationBoard Details: Taking inspiration directly from the Marry Me music clip – which takes place in an old 50s diner – I decided to go with a retro vintage wedding theme. I used the waitresses’ blue uniform and a wonderful ‘Waitress’ movie poster as my starting point and came up with a aqua blue and white colour scheme, accented with pretty pops of pink and yellow. Retro style elements include 1950s style dresses for the bride and bridesmaids, vintage inspired pink and white posy bouquets and a vintage getaway car. Decor details include pretty fabric flag banners, a bright tablescape with retro glasses with striped straws, aqua coloured linens with pink and white striped accents and a waitress style clip-board for menu settings. Sweet retro desserts include cupcakes, popcorn, ice-cream cones, homemade apple pie and a soda fountain.

How about that for a showstopping way to start your reception.

Train Marry Me Wedding CompetitionTo be in the running for this unforgettable wedding gift you need to visit Bride’s Facebook Page where you can tell them your proposal story and upload you and your fiance’s photos.
