Woodlands Bride Inspiration

This woodlands bride inspiration shoot captured our attention. Not for any luxury elements, or opulent details. Not for a jaw-dropping venue or breathtaking location. But for the sheer simplicity of it all. With a simple baby breath’s bouquet and a pretty white gown is everything a bride needs to envoke beauty and pure elegance. The perfect inspiration for a wedding in the woods wouldn’t you agree?. We were sold. Hope you are too.

From the photographer

This shoot was inspired by the natural raw feel of Swarthmore College campus. The campus is covered in tall trees and has a stone amphitheater that made a gorgeous location for bridal portraits. The trees were enchanting with an ethereal feel. We used baby’s breath for a floral crown and bouquet. Using a simple flower for a bouquet can be gorgeous for a wedding. Her makeup look was a smokey eye with a dark red lip and a loose braid in her hair.

Rainy Day + Cupcakes E Session

Braden and Melanie are in a long distance relationship. Braden is finishing his studies in California – Melanie is working in Northern Virginia. Their love is strong – and they are just crazy about each other. But finding just the perfect time for their engagement photos tooks some doing! So when they finally had a date set aside for their engagement session in Carytown, a lovely little part of Richmond, VA, wouldn’t you know it… It rained. Some people would have been disheartened. Not Braden and Melanie. No, these two weren’t even phased by the weather. They went ahead with their engagement session anyway! And when the rain got a little too heavy, they stepped into the famous Carytown Cupcakes for a snack, along with their photographers – Michael and Carina Photography – and they just kept snapping away!

E Session Highlights

We had a blast shooting Melanie and Braden’s engagement session…he actually flew in from California just for their e-session! They didn’t let the rain get to them, that’s for sure. They embraced it! And when the rain got too much, we had some fun and delicious cupcakes! Braden and Melanie are a fun couple. They are naturals. The rain was almost a blessing in disguise, it made for some awesome shots!

From the photographer:

Serena + Austin celebrated 5 years of marriage with an oh-so-THEM session at the NC Museam of the Arts in Raleigh, NC. I have photographed Serena and Austin for a few years now and they always come up with the coolest ideas for their anniversary shoots! We’ve photographed in a soda shop, in a dark upstairs of a downtown storefront and now at the Raleigh Museum of the Arts to celebrate 5 years married! This location was by far my favorite and is SO a representation of this eclectic couple. I couldn’t adore Serena’s pink hair and comic book dress (from Modcloth), paired with Austin’s dapper smile and handsome bow tie more. I can’t WAIT to see what they come up with next year.

Seven Sublime Wedding Stories in Pictures by the Cordare Studio Team

Outstanding wedding photography begins with an instant, a split second, a moment nearly lost in time.

Driven by the heart, by an innate sense of beauty, the photographer tries not to think about anything else, focusing on the present on the other side of the lens.

As if in a meditation session, no thoughts are allowed to stray. There is no time to question techniques, lighting or distances. No opportunity to allow that speck of doubt to filter through that might cause a memorable shot to be lost forever.

At Cordare Studios, we are aware of the microsecond available to create images words cannot describe. We know our clients want honest images about honest moments – images that can only be taken from the heart, not with the head.

Because that’s the only way to tell your wedding story.

 A story of everlasting love

Groom Carrying Bride

Love speaks for itself but like in this stunning shot, it needs the guiding hand of an unobtrusive photographer who won’t derail an intimate moment.  With full trust in their photographer, this couple lost themselves in a tender moment that conjured a heroic rescue in a rugged natural environment just before a treacherous thunderstorm was to arrive.

The result? More than a picture; almost a Hollywood movie.

A story of friendship

Bridesmaids Cheering

A good wedding photographer has an inbuilt instinct for the finer details of a wedding and will use this skill to highlight relationships and emotions. In this image, the team at Cordare has superbly played with the vibrant colours of the gowns, accessories and textures to make a strikingly beautiful composition about friendship and good times, in the shot’s foreground.

A story of the crowd

Bride & Groom leaving

In this shot, the photographer used a wide angle lens to capture a sense of candid belonging. The result is a story of joyous community responding as one as the bride and the groom walk stroll a central red carpet. From taking snap shots with mobile phones to blowing bubbles, playing with balloons and congratulating each other, so much life is beautifully captured in one single vibrant photograph.

A story of overwhelming emotions

Emotional Bride

A skilled wedding photographer anticipates what is about to happen. They react fast to capture a single poignant detail in an elusive instant. That is precisely what Cordare has done to produce a memory of this emotional moment as the bride fights to contain overwhelm and her tears of joy.

A story of real people on the best day of their lives

Wedding Humour

A smile is worth a thousand words, but laughter is one of the most precious commodities exchanged during any event. Capturing the casual humour of a passing moment, the photographer here has given the bride and the groom a memory guaranteed to bring a smile of reminiscence each time they look at this image.

A story about your future

Storm Wedding

Unthreatened by the imminent storm menacing their precious day, Cordare’s photographer embraced a uniquely dramatic situation to record this moment. The result is a symbolic image of commitment by the newlyweds to remain happy in times of difficulties and challenges.

This is how we tell Your Story

Bridal Table

Cordare Studio captures what no one else can see to put into images what cannot be put into words. We capture the unseen unique moments so you can slowly discover and rejoice over them during the years to come after your special wedding day.

Vintage Style Love Shoot by Jessie Felix Photography

This cute couple went for something totally different and re-enacted a 1950s scene for their vintage style love shoot. Infusing old-fashioned values, retro country decor and total adoration for each other, they bring to life an era that once was (complete with single beds!) And we totally LOVE that! Jessie Felix snapped up all the fun and we are so thankful she did!

From the photographer:

This photo shoot was actually supposed to be a “mini” session we were shooting specifically just to get few photos for the couple’s custom Save-the-Date card I was to design, BUT as soon as I saw how great Jen and Jay had dressed and how perfect the lighting and location was coming together on that particular evening, I quickly upgraded our plans to full-scale photo shoot!

Celebrate Adventure Styled Engagement Shoot by Rose Wheat Photography

Using a theme for your engagement shoot can really play a big part in what makes it memorable and personalized. And for the couple who likes to get off the beaten track, an adventure themed shoot – just like this gem by Rose Wheat Photography – is ideal. The concept for the shoot goes something like this…  a couple finds themselves in an obscure bit of terrain whilst out and about on a road trip. Along the way, they decide to take a break and explore the area. They have taken just a few belongings: a Mexican throw blanket, some old luggage, and a camera (of course) to document their voyage. After a gorgeous day of new discoveries and romantic moments, they ride off into the sunset, refreshed by the cool of the night.

From the Photographer

Growing up in Kansas, I’ve always had a passionate desire to travel, so it only seemed appropriate the theme of the shoot be “Celebrate Adventure.” It was an ode to the excitement that accompanies seeing new places and the intimacy it sparks when said places are discovered with loved ones.

We shot at Monument Rocks, which is a collection of chalk pyramids in Western Kansas. The majority of Kansas looks nothing like this, so it made for a really unique backdrop considering our location. Alisha Markle is the fantastic model featured in the shoot. Posing with her is her handsome and willing boyfriend Lincoln Griffin (hence the chemistry). The 1981 CJ7 was provided by Oakley Motors out of Oakley, KS.

All the details came together perfectly the day of the shoot, the weather was ideal, and the breeze was model-ready. All in all, things went according to plan!

Music Themed Engagement Session

Crystal and Micheal met through Micheal’s band so they wanted to incorporate a music theme into their engagement session. Gabrielle Halle Photography set the scene with an urban backdrop, guitar, speakers, and mic creating a wonderful shoot that not only captured their love of music but most importantly for each other.

From the Photographer

We started in the historic Strip District of Pittsburgh which is an area of renovated warehouses, old churches, and industrial history. Most of the Strip is now a market district of specialty shops and art galleries, but along the river, the 40th street bridge and old railroads lend a beautiful architectural backdrop. Micheal and Crystal were so natural in front of the camera and quick to laugh and enjoy their time together. We headed to the North Shore afterwards, to shoot against the beautiful Pittsburgh skyline and close out the evening enjoying the lights on the waterfront at sunset.
