There’s something magical about a romantic old worlde location full of charm and breathtaking surrounds. To prove my point, all you have to do is feast your eyes on this gorgeous outdoor Arizona Wedding captured by Melissa Dunstan Photography. Sedona, Arizona is noted to be one of the most beautiful places to live and Krystle and Ethan’s wedding takes it one step further by taking place in the spectacular Mexican styled Arts and Crafts Village of Tlaquepaque.  This is a traditional outdoor Summer wedding at it’s best. You have a gorgeous classic bride with a groom who only has eyes for her. A bold and vibrant color palette of ruby red and orange making a striking statement against the charming backdrop. An elegant wedding cake from Sedona Cake Couture and sweet personalized touches such as the hand-made quilt squares for each their guests to sign. Thanks Melissa for sharing this stunning wedding.

Texas Hill Country Engagement Session by Shuffield Photography

Tucked away in the heart of Texas Hill Country is a very small town by the name of Brady. Surrounded by nature and full of country charm it’s the perfect spot for a sweet rustic engagement session such as this by Shuffield Photography. Let me introduce Meagan and Shaun. They celebrated their engagement with this shoot captured initially at Meagan’s parent’s property and then ventured over to a nearby Victorian home complete with a cute barn out back. The results speak for themselves – natural and romantic pics that will stand the test of time. For the record . . . the bride Meagan has a yummy looking food blog called A Zesty Bite and also happens to be a stylist for “Stella & Dot.” So, that explains her fabulous personal style and where the cute accessories came from! I’m happy to report that Meagan and Shaun are now officially hitched as they’ve already recently tied the knot in Austin, Texas on July 23 this year. Well done guys!

Budget Beautiful Montreal Wedding by Ella Photography

This joyful budget Montreal Wedding by Ella Photography proves without a doubt you can have a beautiful wedding without a huge outlay. Eve and Ben celebrated their big day back in May. They were able to successfully keep their wedding costs to a minimum due to the wonderful support of their friends, family and local community. Eve, a volunteer at her church’s Mom & Tots class, was given use of the church for both the ceremony and reception free of charge. They also saved by renting the bridal gown and groom’s tuxedo, as well as by Eve’s mom supplying all the food. These smart alternatives meant many of the typical big dollar wedding items were practically eliminated. As you’ll see from their wonderful images, their clever planning and small outlay did not take anything away from their special day.Budget Beautiful Montreal WeddingThe whole joyous occasion is full of pretty details, bright pops of purple, simplistic style and loving moments. I also love the use of graffiti walls as a backdrop for their portfolio pics to give their wedding photography a modern city feel. Congratulations Eve and Ben on a beautiful wedding. You’ve reminded us how generosity and love are truly the essence of a magical wedding.

The help and generosity that everyone gave me, made my wedding day feel like a fairytale. I will be forever grateful it meant a lot to have such a great entourage”

Whimsical Kites and Pinwheels | Wedding of the Week

Whimsical Wedding

My favourite real wedding on the web this week is this captivating outdoor whimsical wedding featured on Hostess with the Mostess. Designed and coordinated by Jesi Haack the entire wedding took it’s inspiration from kites and is bursting with color, fun and creativity. The ceremony and aisle decor is vibrant and overflowing with handmade pinwheels, kites and whimsical florals. Every gorgeous image by photographer Ashley Rose kept me glued to my screen including the pretty whimsical tables (each with their own bird house), to the vibrant dessert buffet balloon backdrop by Sweet & Saucy, to the draw dropping pinwheel and kite ceremony arbor – wow!

Vintage Save The Dates

When you create save the dates with a vintage theme it sets the tone for your wedding. These inventive vintage save the date cards featured on Elizabeth Anne Designs were created with vintage wall paper and ephemera to create a backdrop for a simple printed calendar highlighting the future wedding date. An assortment of miniature vintage postcards featuring various scenes of the couple’s city were also used to display their wedding website address and wedding date. To complete the whole vintage feel, it was then packaged together with a mini clothes pin – fabulous!  Check out the full DIY project and some cute vintage invitations too.

Whimsical Vintage Tablescapes

Little details are extremely effective when creating a vintage mood or theme and that is exactly what this stunning tablescape featured on Once Wed by talented designer La La Laurie had to offer. Bursting with color and full of whimsy, most of the vintage decor was sourced from vintage stores, thrift shops and markets. On display are adorable blue glass tumblers, delicate demi tass cups and saucers and paper wrapped candle holders, making the wedding table oh so quaint and packed with pretty vintage to boot! Plus, she added a gorgeous vintage purse for extra vintage style!

This lovely vintage tablescape is a great example of how to achieve a more sophisticated vintage inspired look. Rather than the expense of antique place settings, the bride made DIY fabric menus and displayed them in antique style picture frames. Each wedding table had it’s own vintage fabric design and the menus were attached to napkins with a pretty ribbon.

DIY Vintage Garlands

Decorating with vintage inspired garlands are a beautiful and extremely effective way to set the mood. Whether you are having a relaxed whimsical soiree or super chic vintage event, you can find a garland to suit. Paper florals, vintage papers and flag bunting add instant whimsy. However, if you are after something more glamorous go for sophisticated laces, crystals or luxurious looking garlands. I adore the white Mexican banners and paper decorations used in this London vintage wedding, and flag bunting just like this in pretty hues is always a winner at any event.

Looking for vintage decor with plenty of glitz and glamour? Then take inspiration from this fantastic backdrop used behind the wedding dessert table.  It was created by draping a variety of materials from a pipe-and-drape stand – rich plum colored fabric, glittering strands of acrylic crystal garland, antique crocheted ribbon and a mix of satin ribbons in ivory, deep purple and bronze satin ribbon combine for a luscious look. This fabulous design comes from this vintage inspired shoot full of great budget friendly DIY vintage ideas.

Vintage Styling Ideas

Gracing many styled events today, is the use of props and furniture from a particular era. You can either hire some great pieces from a prop supplier, or alternatively hunt your local antique and thrift stores for some great bargains. But don’t forget there is a chance you could have fantastic vintage finds right under your nose. Family and friends may have some amazing family heirlooms or collectibles in their possession which would set the scene beautifully for your vintage theme.
